A slightly recessed stoma or one surrounded by folds often causes the barrier to lift in places, leading to leaks that irritate the skin. The New Image convex skin barrier gently presses around the stoma to fill these depressions and maintain more consistent contact. Its CeraPlus barrier is infused with ceramide, a naturally occurring component of the skin.

On a two-piece system, the wafer stays on for several days, while the pouch can be changed as needed. The New Image convex CeraPlus works here with a curve that applies gentle pressure around the stoma and a ceramide adhesive designed for skin that reddens easily.
