Most shoulder orthoses have a strap that goes around the neck, and the weight of the arm ends up pulling on the healthy side. The SecuTec Omo works differently, as the arm rests on a frame that is supported by the pelvis. The load is directed towards the hips instead of weighing on the neck, and the healthy shoulder remains free.
- The arm abduction can be adjusted up to 60 degrees to keep the shoulder in the required position after surgery or injury.
- Arm rotation can be adjusted at the push of a button, inward up to 90 degrees and outward up to 30 degrees, without disassembling the orthosis.
- The angle of the frame at the pelvis can be adjusted to conform to the body shape and avoid uncomfortable pressure points.
- Pads can be detached with snap fasteners and hand-washed.
